About The Position
We are seeking a Lathe Machinist to join a growing manufacturing team. In this role, you will set up and operate lathe machines (including barrel lathes) to machine metal parts according to specifications. This position is ideal for someone with machining experience who takes pride in producing accurate, high-quality parts.
Requirements
- Previous experience operating lathe machines
- Ability to read blueprints and work instructions
- Experience using precision measuring tools
- Strong attention to detail and mechanical aptitude
- Reliable attendance and ability to work overtime when needed
Nice To Haves
- Experience with barrel lathes
- Machining steel or heavy metal components
- Machine setup experience
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate manual or barrel lathe machines
- Machine metal components according to blueprints and specifications
- Select proper tooling, speeds, and feeds for machining operations
- Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, and gauges
- Make adjustments to maintain part quality and machine efficiency
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Follow all safety and production procedures
- Communicate any tooling or machine issues to supervisors
