The Impact You’ll Make in this Role As a Lathe Operator I you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by: Verifies and documents in-process inspections for conformance to specifications. Visually inspects at various operating steps/operations for product/material defects and that the product is properly identified to maintain traceability. Read measuring devices (micrometer, calipers, protractors, and etc.) and core print, face cores, turn outside diameter, bore holes, select and sharpen tools, change parts on the CNC machine Your Skills and Expertise To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications:

Requirements

  • Possess a High School Diploma/GED or higher from an accredited institution (completed and verified prior to start)
  • Work 1st Shift (6AM – 4:30PM, Monday - Thursday), ability to work on weekends, working overtime, rotating shifts, and/or short notice shift coverage
  • Must possess basic computer skills
  • Applicants meeting the basic qualifications above may be required to take and pass 3M elected testing as part of the selection process.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).

Nice To Haves

  • Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions and basic mathematical calculations.
  • Requires production and inspection experience to perform duties.
  • Operate equipment following department Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions (WIs).
  • Must be able to understand basic CAD drawings/prints.
