About The Position

Position Details : PRN (As needed). No guarantee of hours. Various shifts. Position Summary: The Laundry Aide follows Safety and Infection Prevention best practices to ensure adequate supplies of clean and sanitary linen are provided to specified patient care areas in the appropriate quantities and in a timely manner. Safely transports clean and soiled linens, sorts and processes linens, operates a variety of equipment to include commercial-sized washing machines, dryers, folding and transfer containers and carts and ensures their work area and linen storage areas are cleaned and disinfected all according to department and Lake Health District policy and procedure.

Requirements

  • Education : High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification/Registration : Must have State of Oregon Driver License or the ability to obtain one.
  • Experience: Previous experience preferred; training available.
  • Job Knowledge & Skills: One year's laundry experience in a healthcare setting preferred but not required. On-the-job training will be provided.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
  • Subject to satisfactory adjudication of background investigation and/or fingerprint check.
  • Successful completion of 500-hour probationary period.
  • Criminal background check and pre-employment drug screen required upon conditional job offer.
  • If claiming veteran's preference, you must submit a DD214, Certificate of Release from Active Duty, which shows dates of service and discharge under honorable conditions.
  • If currently on active-duty you must submit a certification of expected discharge or release from active-duty service under honorable conditions not later than 120 days after the date the certification is submitted.
  • Veteran's preference must be verified prior to appointment.
  • Without this documentation, you will not receive veteran's preference and your application will be evaluated based on the material(s) submitted.
  • If claiming 10-point veteran's preference you must provide the DD214 or certification requirements (see above bullet), plus the proof of entitlement of this.
  • Failure to submit these documents could result in the determination that there is insufficient documentation to support your claim for 10-point preference.

Nice To Haves

  • One year's laundry experience in a healthcare setting preferred but not required.
