About The Position

The Laundry Aide is responsible for processing linens according to Plymouth Harbor standards. Monday-Friday but must have availability to work weekend mornings, weekday mornings, and night shift as needed DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES Operate washers and dryers as instructed. Fold, stack, hang, and/or deliver clean linens. Pick up soiled linens as instructed. Follow supervisory guidelines and safety rules for proper usage of equipment. Use proper chemicals in specified amounts for hand fed machines, following correct formulas for various types of linens processed. Report any equipment malfunction to the supervisor in charge. Follow established policy and procedure for stain treatment of linens. Assist in maintaining the laundry in a clean, safe, and sanitary condition. Report any unsafe conditions or items in need of repair. Handle soiled linen in a manner that minimizes the presence of airborne contaminants. Wear protective clothing (gown and/or gloves) when handling soiled or contaminated linen. Advise supervisor of needed chemicals and/or supplies. Keep various records as instructed by the Housekeeping Manager or the Director of Environmental Services. Work safely; complying at all times with Plymouth Harbor safety standards. Call 555 in the event of an emergency. Discharge properly other responsibilities and duties that may be directed by the Housekeeping Manager or Director of Environmental Services. Attend and participate in workshops, seminars, and mandatory in-services as approved or required. Maintain work area, equipment, and supplies in a clean, sanitary, and organized manner.

Requirements

  • Must have good organizational skills.
  • Must be a detail-oriented person and able to perform duties with great accuracy on a daily basis.
  • Must have excellent personal skills, demonstrating the ability to conduct oneself in a non-controversial style; a style that inspires the respect of others and promotes a sense of trust in the individual’s competence.
  • Must have good communication skills; speaking, writing, and listening.
  • Must be fluent in English.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Prior experience in a laundry operation preferred.
