About The Position

Provide clean uniforms, in good repair, to all hotel colleagues.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a laundry facility is beneficial
  • Must have a strong work ethic
  • Able to work in a team environment
  • Must be able to communicate (speak, read, write) in English
  • Able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Able to work in a hot and humid environment
  • Not allergic to linens, detergents and dust
  • Able to lift and bend.

Responsibilities

  • Issuance of appropriate clean uniforms to all Hotel colleagues.
  • Ensure that all uniforms returned are inspected and counted.
  • Perform emergency repairs on uniforms as required.
  • To operate the steam tunnel for uniforms when so required.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions and irregularities.
  • Ensure a neat and tidy work area at all times.
  • Adhere to and comply with all safety regulations when handling hazardous materials according to MSDS (i.e. wearing safety goggle, aprons, mask and gloves when needed).
  • Safe effective use of equipment.
  • Use only chemicals and safety equipment provided by the Hotel.
  • Follow Chelsea grooming policy. Nametag must be worn at all times.
  • Perform other tasks and duties assigned by Management
  • Open communication with Managers to report challenges or issues.
  • Conduct a regular count and inspection of all uniforms to be sent out.
  • Perform in-house pressing for guest and staff uniforms when required.
  • Should always conduct him/herself with a pleasant and helpful attitude towards guest, co-workers and managers.
