About The Position

Laundry Worker I - Part Time - Rotating If you are ready to play a key role in the care and caring of our patients, explore the following position with our Linen Services Team: Our Linen staff is essential to ensuring a safe, comfortable and welcoming environment for our patients and their families. From friendly smiles and conversations, to the continuous focus on infection control, our professionals help to provide a positive experience for everyone within our hospital. Laundry workers sort, inspect, count, laundered items received from outside laundry before storing on shelves or filling department requisitions. Launder workers foster a culture of compassion, caring, warmth and support within our hospital. They interact with patients and their families, go beyond for patients and deliver superior customer service. This is a part time rotating shift includes weekdays, weekends and rotating holidays at NewYork-Presbyterian Queens Hospital located at 56-45 Main Street, Flushing NY 11355-The shift includes weekdays, weekends and holidays and requires registration with the 1199 Job Security Fund. This shift will rotate shifts between, days, evening and nights.

Requirements

• Strong commitment to providing an outstanding patient experience
• Ability to read, write and follow specific oral and written instructions
• Manual dexterity to perform laundry activities
• Ability to follow specific instructions and carry out designated assignments within a designated timeframe
• Numerical ability necessary for conducting inventory of stock
• Oral and written communications

Nice To Haves

• Qualified candidates have extensive customer service experience and a desire to Put Patients First
• Experience in the healthcare, hotel, restaurant or retail industry.
• A high school diploma or GED is highly desired, but not required
