About The Position

Leidos is seeking a Low Band Surveillance (LBS) Project Intern to join our team in Huntsville, AL for the 2026 Summer. The LBS program is a large and complex radar system that requires a diverse engineering and manufacturing skillset to properly execute. The LBS Project Interns will work directly with the LBS Project Managers to meet the mission commitments to the customer and the financial commitments to LBS Portfolio Manager on the LBS U and LBS V programs. Key responsibilities include but not limited to PowerPoint creation, deliverable writing, notes, creation of program documentation, reviewing IMS for accuracy, running down taskers across the LBS Team, and helping to deliver excellent program performance overall. Primary Responsibilities: Work with Project Managers to create program documentation such as Program Management, Supplier Management, and Risk Management Plans. Create PowerPoint slides for various internal and external meetings. Review IMS for discrepancies with logic working with technical teams. Help identify new risks to the program. Help manage cost baseline with direction from Project Manager. Assist Project Manager with leading the project teams throughout the product delivery life cycle of the program, both hardware and software development, to support the client with critical missions. Assist Project Managers to define strategies and success for all aspects of contract management, financial performance, and budget control.

Requirements

  • College student exiting either their freshman or sophomore year of college.
  • 1+ years of experience managing programs or teams, preference for individuals who have worked with a hardware production team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent customer interaction and presentation skills.
  • Must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville, AL area at their own expense.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Preference shown to candidates who have experience and/or working knowledge of: Risk identification, analysis, and management techniques
  • Subcontract management including creating SOW, and managing technical, schedule and budget for both large and small subcontractors.
  • Proposal management including identifying key partners, developing statements of work for subcontracts, planning and writing proposal response.
