About The Position

Under the direction of the Beverage Supervisor, the lead barback plays a crucial role in the development of new barbacks by ensuring the new team member understands the essential duties to run a smooth and efficient bar. Additionally, the lead barback provides training and/or ongoing training as needed for existing barbacks, in areas such as bar setup, cleaning standards, daily checklists, entertainment venues and ensures all bar equipment is properly maintained. Lead barbacks will assist bar backs, bartenders and servers as needed.

Requirements

• Must be 21 years of age, or older.
• High School diploma or equivalent, required
• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
• Any combination of education, experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
• Must be able to provide evidence of eligibility to work in the United States of America.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Soboba Tribal Gaming Commission license
• Required to submit to and obtain negative results on all drug and/or alcohol testing
• Ability to obtain and maintain County of Riverside Food Handlers Card within seven (7) days of date of hire.
• Ability to obtain and maintain TIPS certification (Training for Intervention Procedures).
• Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certified, or able to obtain certification within 60 days of date of hire.

Responsibilities

• Training of new bar /barbacks and responsible for all aspects of quality and consistency of the Beverage Department.
• Complete stock requests and pick up product from warehouse
• Deliver product where needed
• Oversee barbacks and on daily tasks and sign off checklists at the end of their shifts
• Assist in creating and updating barback/ training manuals
• Enforcement and delegation of daily duties while behind the bars or on the floor, making sure other barbacks stay on task in the absence of a supervisor
• Conduct ongoing /barback training for all current staff
• Assist in updating procedures that pertain to the barback position
• Apply positive communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills with guests, (internal and external) at all times.
• Complete all setup duties in timely fashion.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of bar area and equipment according to Soboba Casino Resort and Health Department standards; including but not limited to cleaning the floors, drains, mats, refrigerators, etc.
• Assist Bartender/Server with assigned duties as requested.
• Other duties as may be assigned from time-to-time.
• Completes all duties assigned in Barback job descriptions in their absence.
