This is a full time position with day shifts, starting anytime between 6am and 7am for 8 hours, including every 3rd rotation of coverage on other shifts, weekends and holidays as needed. Why join this team? The Clinical Lab Scientist (CLS) Lead will be joining the lab team at Scripps Green Hospital, one of our busiest sites for transfusion medicine. The team at Scripps Green Hospital is a close-knit, experienced team passionate about providing quality patient care. As part of the team at Scripps Green Hospital, the CLS Lead would be exposed to cases related to hematology/oncology, urgent care and other rare cases with a patient population that is more clinic- and treatment-based. The Clinical Lab Scientist (CLS) Lead will be a true asset to the Blood Bank Department at Scripps Green Hospital, working both on the bench and ensuring regulations are enforced. To be successful, the Lead CLS must be technically experienced, organized and able to communicate effectively. The Lead CLS will have an extensive support system, participating in the blood bank technical committee meetings with their counterparts from the other sites. The Lead CLS is a valued team member amongst the surgeons, pathologists and nurses and enjoys the unique opportunity to network with different care lines. The Lead CLS will also serve as a resource in training new hires and students. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working collaboratively in an environment that facilitates the exchange of ideas and resources.

Requirements

  • Baccalaureate Degree or degree acceptable by California Laboratory Field Services for the application of a Clinical Laboratory Scientist or Limited License.
  • 4 years' experience in high complexity testing
  • Good critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient with medical terminology and computer systems.
  • CDPH Licensure: MTA (Clinical Laboratory Scientist) Licensed to perform work in all areas of the Clinical Lab.
