Overall Purpose: Ensure organizational adherence to regulatory standards and internal policies by overseeing the development and implementation of compliance programs, conducting risk assessments, and performing control audits to safeguard data security, privacy, and customer protection. This role also supports clients, attorneys, and multiple business units by providing compliance and governance guidance.

Requirements

  • An experienced paralegal professional recognized as an expert, creatively resolving complex issues with broad and in-depth knowledge.
  • Leads significant projects with strategic autonomy, influencing executive decisions.
  • Mentors less experienced staff and implements long-term plans that impact the organization.
  • Frequently collaborates with senior leadership and legal partners.
  • Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) preferred.
  • Five (5) or more years of related experience.
  • Paralegal certificate is required.

Nice To Haves

  • International and/or domestic corporate governance experience and company secretarial experience are strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and Administer Compliance Programs: Lead the development, implementation, and administration of compliance programs, including the creation and maintenance of compliance documentation and measurement tools.
  • Corporate Governance: Assist with Corporate Governance functions, including maintaining compliance for multiple domestic and international legal entities.
  • Conduct Risk Assessments and Compliance Reviews: Perform in-depth risk assessments and advanced compliance reviews to identify potential issues and ensure effective risk management practices.
  • Collect and Analyze Compliance Data: Collect and analyze data related to compliance activities, providing expert recommendations to resolve complex compliance issues and enhance compliance processes.
  • Prepare Reports and Deliver Training: Prepare detailed compliance reports, maintain comprehensive documentation, and develop and deliver compliance training programs to educate employees on regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders and Monitor Regulations: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including third-party suppliers and regulatory bodies, and stay current with changes in laws and regulations to ensure compliance programs are up to date.
  • Support Legal and Business Partners: Partner with attorneys, clients, and multiple business units to interpret requirements, respond to compliance inquiries, and support governance and risk-related initiatives.
