About The Position

We are seeking a Lead Database Engineer to serve as the primary database architect and engineering lead for DTCC’s new and innovative IT Balanced Scorecard—a first‑of‑its‑kind solution that will be used by the CIO and her directs to run their IT organizations.
This role will be instrumental in designing and building the underlying Snowflake database that powers the scorecard, supporting data integrations in partnership with the CLAW team, DTCC’s centralized data warehouse team.
You will also collaborate closely with Power BI developers to create a high‑quality, easy‑to‑use, and analytically powerful IT Balanced Scorecard that becomes the authoritative source for Technology Governance metrics. This role will expand over time to support additional dashboards and analytics products across Technology Governance.

Requirements

• Minimum of 6 years of related experience
• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience
• Advanced Excel and data visualization skills (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or QuickSight).
• Power BI development and testing, including DAX and Power Query
• Experience with data platforms and Snowflake usage optimization
• Talend
• Autosys
• Proficiency in scripting or SQL for custom cost analytics and automation
• JIRA and Agile delivery experience
• Experience developing, validating, and reporting on metrics and KPIs
• Strong communication, leadership and facilitation skills
• Ability to collaborate with diverse technical and non‑technical collaborators
• Thought leadership and the ability to challenge and influence upstream data designs (especially with centralized data teams such as CLAW)

Responsibilities

• Serve as the lead database engineer responsible for the end‑to‑end design, development, performance tuning, and maintenance of the IT Balanced Scorecard Snowflake database.
• Partner closely with the CLAW team to understand, challenge, and refine their technical designs and data models to ensure accurate, high‑quality, and scalable solutions.
• Collaborate with the Power BI development resource to design data models, optimize performance, and validate visualizations and DAX logic for the IT Balanced Scorecard.
• Expand database engineering support to broader Technology Governance dashboards and metrics programs.
• Apply Agile ways of working: participate in sprint ceremonies, maintain JIRA stories, estimate work, and deliver iterative value.
• Build, document, and implement comprehensive test plans, including data validation, reconciliation, and Power BI dashboard testing.
• Ensure strong data model documentation, reproducibility of pipelines, and alignment to enterprise governance standards.
• Develop SQL, data transformations, and schedule jobs using Talend and Autosys where required.
• Drive continuous improvement in data quality, data lineage, and reliability of metric reporting across Technology Governance.
