About The Position

As a Dock Door Lead Technician, you will take technical ownership of dock doors and dock leveling systems across our operations. You’ll manage preventive and corrective maintenance programs, troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues, and serve as the go-to resource for dock door systems — without formal supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience in dock door installation, repair, and maintenance in commercial or industrial settings.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Must own a complete set of tools required for the role.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle required. Travel between sites will be a requirement of the role.
  • Completion of all required C&W Safety Training.

Nice To Haves

  • Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
  • Graduate of an apprentice program or trade school.
  • Certifications or licenses as may be required in your trade (e.g., Journeyman, Master Electrician, Universal Technician for CFCs).
  • Experience in operation, maintenance, or repair of HVAC, boilers, pumps, water systems, or energy management systems.
  • Strong technical proficiency and troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement dock door and dock leveler preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Perform inspections, repairs, and maintenance on commercial and industrial overhead doors and dock levelers.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
  • Maintain documentation of work performed, inspections, and service records in CMMS.
  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact for dock door-related issues.
  • Support and mentor other maintenance staff with technical guidance when needed.
  • Coordinate with operations and facilities teams to prioritize repairs.
  • Work safely from ladders, scaffolding, and aerial lifts while following PPE and fall protection standards.
  • Ensure all work complies with company safety policies and OSHA standards.
