About The Position

Summary Provide leadership, organize and monitor the flow of goods being loaded and unloaded from the trucks. Provide training for dock personnel and close monitoring of safety procedures and policies. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Train employees in proper dock procedures. Unloads or loads trucks at dock. Helps to load trucks on pick-up routes. Maintains a clean and safe working area inside and outside of dock. Conduct daily walk-through inspection prior to the start of operations. Other duties may be assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities Assist with supervision of Dock Workers, Balers, Tipper Operators, Forklift Operators and Truck Helpers. Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred but not required.
• Practical knowledge of dock work, including mechanical equipment used.
• Experience operating a pallet jack, two-wheel dollies and four wheel carts.
• Must maintain the ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to load and unload trucks of merchandise including clothing, household goods, furniture and appliances.
• Able to sort and pack merchandise for safe storage or transport.
• Must maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record acceptable to Goodwill's liability insurance provider.
• Must maintain the ability to pass a criminal background check and random drug screens.
