In collaboration with the Manager of Ambulatory Operations and Technologist Supervisor, oversees day to day operations and staffing. Maintains and troubleshoots diagnostic equipment. Provides technical leadership to neurodiagnostic technologists. Provides and oversees training for new technologist and/or for new procedures in collaboration with the Technologist Supervisor. Assigns and checks the work of others. Proficiently performs 3 or 4 procedures included in the neurodiagnostic lab. These procedures include EEG, EMU, CLTM, Evoked Potentials, and OR Monitoring.

Requirements

  • Two years of college with specialization in human anatomy and physiology, training including national registration in EEG (REEGT or CBRET or CLTM).
  • 3-5 years of experience in a Neurodiagnostic Lab setting (EEG, or CLTM, or EMU, or EP).
  • Must demonstrate proven ability to instruct medical students, residents, and students in electroneurodiagnostic procedures.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills necessary, to interact with staff, physicians and patients.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional neurodiagnostic credentials in EP (REPT) is desirable.
  • Board registry in 2 testing areas.

Responsibilities

  • Distributes and monitors the flow of work for the NDC technologists. Provides training and technical assistance to the techs. Assists manager in assuring assigned employees are provided with appropriate resources, materials, and methods. Provides recommendations to manager for the most efficient utilization of assigned personnel. Relays work instruction from the manager. Participates in resident training program.
  • Troubleshoots equipment and reports equipment problems to IS, Biomedical Engineering and/or EEG vendors.
  • Assists manager and supervisor with Quality Assurance projects, and update of policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for timely and accurate reporting of departmental statistics to manager.
  • Develop training plans and competencies.
  • Performs the duties of a Neurodiagnostic Technologist, Registered.

Assists supervisor in assuring that assigned employees are provided with appropriate resources, materials, and methods. Provides recommendations to manager or supervisor for the most efficient utilization of assigned personnel. Relays work instruction from the supervisor.
