About The Position

We are looking for your talent to help us invent the future of flight in the Future of Flight Organization at GE Aerospace. Looking to impact aviation for years to come? Your work on RISE technologies will usher in a new era of propulsion technology for next-generation aircraft and pave the way for a more sustainable future. This position is for an Evendale-based fluids systems and component engineer (fuel, oil, pneumatic). You will be responsible for defining and managing component requirements and the system integration for components that pertain to supplier-designed fluids hardware. You will own the component and execution starting from initial concept through design, development, and validation and culminating in a product vision. Examples of this hardware include pumps, filters, heat exchangers, hydraulic-actuated air valves, electro-hydraulic servo valves, etc. The position requires you to execute system and component analyses, coordinate within a multi-disciplinary team, integrate the system with the engine and airframe, and validate the design through testing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in design engineering
  • This role requires applicants to be strong both technically and programmatically
  • This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. Therefore, employment will be contingent upon the ability to prove that you meet the status of a U.S. Person as one of the following: U.S. lawful permanent resident, U.S. Citizen, have been granted asylee or refugee status (i.e., a protected individual under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)).

Responsibilities

  • Functionally manage a multiple-disciplinary team which is both domestic and global, and supplier networks
  • Communicate and present key trade studies and decisions to technical and program leadership
  • Guide and mentor less experienced engineering team members
  • Meet customer deliverables with quality and punctuality
  • Manage multiple program deliverables, including creating schedules and managing to those schedules
  • Integrate multiple engine components and technologies within the system
  • Create and execute physics-based models
  • Execute design trade studies, balancing engine deliverables and schedule
  • Identify suppliers and partners required to meet engine deliverables
  • Provide regular updates to technical leadership including through design reviews, design guidance efforts, and programmatic reviews
  • Apply established program management skills utilizing lean tools
