About The Position

ROLE AND POSITION OBJECTIVES: Bachelor's degree in a STEM field (Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related) 10+ years of experience in software-intensive program leadership, with demonstrated ability to lead large, multi-discipline technical teams Proven track record of delivering complex software programs on schedule and to customer expectations Experience managing and developing senior technical staff and functional leads Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively across all levels — from engineers to senior government leadership Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Digital Engineering principles, including the use of modeling tools (e.g., Cameo, MagicDraw) to support system design, integration, and requirements traceability Active TS/SCI clearance or eligibility to obtain one Technical Leadership Serve as the single point of accountability for all technical execution across Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Systems Integration & Test, IT, Technical Documentation, Training, and Cybersecurity Maintain and evolve the program technical roadmap, setting development direction and ensuring alignment with customer priorities and contract requirements Drive architectural decisions and resolve complex cross-discipline technical challenges Ensure software releases are delivered on schedule and meet quality standards People Leadership Serve as the Lead Systems Engineer for the program while also coordinating 5 senior functional leads (SIT/IT, Tech Docs, Training, Software, Cybersecurity), with overall team responsibility for 30–40 personnel Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement across all functional areas Develop and mentor technical staff, identifying growth opportunities and building organizational capability Customer & Stakeholder Engagement Serve as the primary technical interface with customers, stakeholders, and end users — building deep relationships and maintaining a thorough understanding of operational needs Conduct software demonstrations, technical briefings, and training for audiences ranging from end users to senior government leadership (General Officer / SES level) Translate diverse and evolving customer requests into actionable technical direction, consistently delivering more value than expected Actively support new business efforts by representing technical capabilities and identifying opportunities for program growth Program Performance Serve as Control Account Manager (CAM), owning the planning and execution of assigned control accounts and maintaining accountability for cost and schedule performance Monitor program health metrics, identify variances early, and drive corrective actions as needed Maintain transparency with program management and customers on performance trends Continuous Improvement Actively solicit and act on user feedback, driving prioritization of fixes, documentation updates, and retraining as needed Identify and implement process improvements across engineering, integration, and delivery workflows

Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, Technology or Mathematics field.
  • Also requires 8+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 6 years of job-related experience.
  • Agile experience preferred.
  • Department of Defense TS/SCI security clearance is required at time of hire.
  • Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
  • Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
