About The Position

This Lead Transient Analysis Engineer position will make immediate contributions to the team responsible for Boiling Water Reactor (BWR) transient analyses, while being technically mentored by a team of high performing engineers. The individual will work within an energetic team environment to perform thermal-hydraulic and plant transient analyses to support a variety of applications including BWR reload analysis, power uprate and new power plant analyses. The position offers limitless opportunity to learn the fundamental bases of nuclear power plant operations and safety analysis by applying state-of-the-art thermal hydraulics methods to satisfy licensing requirements and solve real day to day plant problems. Additionally, this position has direct customer-facing opportunities through training, deliverables, and collaboration. The transient analysis team offers unique opportunities to create and/or improve cutting-edge automation and methods. The individual will lead a variety of projects including technical evaluations and analyses in the area of plant transients, thermal hydraulics, Anticipated Transients without Scram, Heat Balances and thermal hydraulic fuel channel analyses. This individual will deliver products at a consistently high and sustainable level in accordance with customer requirements, business procedures, and regulatory agency guidelines. Requirements

  • B.S. Degree in Engineering Discipline (Nuclear, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or similar).
  • At least 4 years of relevant nuclear experience
  • Eligibility Requirements: This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.

  • Experience with BWR core simulation and thermal-hydraulic systems codes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a variety of projects including technical evaluations and analyses in the area of Anticipated Operational Occurrences, Anticipated Transients without Scram, Reactor Heat Balance, and Thermal Hydraulic Fuel Channel Analyses
  • Deliver products at a consistently high and sustainable level in accordance with customer requirements, business procedures, and regulatory agency guidelines.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and teamwork skills will be required to interface with a variety of individuals with diverse backgrounds.
