About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Lead Engineer-Water Resources to join our team and support the planning, design, and implementation of innovative coastal restoration and protection projects. This role plays a critical part in advancing shoreline stabilization, marsh creation, and hydraulic restoration initiatives while ensuring technical excellence and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

A master’s degree in civil engineering, coastal engineering, or a related field. Relevant and sufficient work experience may substitute for the master’s degree requirement.
Professional Engineer license
Valid driver’s license
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in water resources engineering, focusing on coastal projects.
Familiar with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software (e.g., HEC-RAS/HEC-HMS, SWMM, Delft3D, MIKE21).
Strong understanding of coastal processes, sediment transport, and climate change impacts.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Knowledge of MATLAB, Python, Fortran, and other programming systems.
Proficient in computer-assisted design (CAD) and other design, data recording, and analyzation software.
Proficiency in GIS software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, or similar tools.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Ability to acclimate to project management software or related software.

Responsibilities

Design and implement coastal engineering projects, including shoreline protection, marsh creation, and hydraulic restoration.
Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic modeling to assess coastal processes and impacts.
Perform site assessments and lead data collection efforts to support project planning and design.
Develop and review technical reports, plans, and specifications.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including environmental scientists and planners.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and guidelines.
Participate in community engagement and client meetings to present project findings and gather feedback.
Provide technical support during construction and post-construction phases.
Conduct field visits to support project needs.
