About The Position

Under the direction of the Facilities Manager, the Lead Facilities Technician supervises Facilities Technicians on assigned shift, acts as project lead, and performs intermediate to advanced levels of maintenance and construction work.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED Certificate.
  • Certificate or License in specific maintenance trade (i.e., HVAC, etc.).
  • Two years of experience in facilities maintenance, construction, or related field.
  • One year of prior experience in a supervisory or lead capacity.
  • Forklift Scissor and Boom Operator Certification within the first year.
  • Must participate and complete ongoing departmental training.
  • Must hold a valid California driver's license and meet the insurance requirements of Chumash Enterprises.
  • Basic computer proficiency utilizing Microsoft applications, e-mail, and internet.
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules in a 24/7 work environment, including holidays, nights, and weekends.
  • Must apply for, receive, and maintain a Gaming License from the Tribal Gaming Agency.
  • Native American hiring preference applies.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures proper and timely repair and maintenance of assigned area.
  • Supervises and works alongside Facilities Technicians on assigned shift and area.
  • Acts as project lead on assigned maintenance and/or construction projects.
  • Performs quality control check of all repairs.
  • Works closely with appropriate department management to coordinate scheduling or repairs and area closures.
  • Maintains inventory of tools and supplies utilized by the technicians to make repairs.
  • Performs a full range of preventive and general maintenance on Resort facilities.
  • Assists in the planning and scheduling of the installation, care, and repair of Resort facilities and equipment.
  • Utilizes the work order system to assign and complete projects.
  • Confers with the Facilities Manager regarding workloads and priorities.
  • Keeps records of repairs completed; prepares reports as needed.
  • Works under limited supervision with considerable latitude to take initiative and exercise independent judgment.
  • Prepares estimates of work hours, materials, and resources required for projects.
  • Requisitions materials and supplies.
  • Provides safety training on equipment, and ensures power tools are in safe, operable condition.
  • Schedules, assigns, and inspects work of others.
  • Trains, mentors, develops, coaches, resolves problems, provides open communication vehicles, and recommends disciplinary actions as appropriate.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
