Lead Full Stack Software Engineer

About the position

Allegion is looking for a passionate Lead Software Engineer to work as part of a highly engaged small team in Colorado, within a global organization of 12,000+ employees, representing 30+ brands (including Schlage, Von Duprin and LCN) focused on safety, security and access management. You'll work on solutions that will enable seamless access and help keep you and your loved ones safe and secure where they work, live and thrive.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical direction and leadership to the software development team.
• Define and enforce coding standards, architecture guidelines and development best practices.
• Work with the Systems Engineer and Architect to lead the design and development of software solutions, ensuring scalability, performance and security.
• Conduct code reviews to ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Work with Product and the development team to estimate initiatives as part of our development process.
• Mentor and support team members in their professional growth and technical skills development.
• Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment that encourages innovation and knowledge sharing.
• Work with Platform Manager and Product Manager to plan, prioritize and manage development tasks to meet project deadlines.
• Monitor and report on project progress, risks, and issues and propose solutions when necessary.
• Analyze, design, develop, modify, write, edit and implement software programming applications.
• Analyze and define software requirements to determine specifications and standards.
• Propose software solutions.
• Determine the cost of new and modified systems and engage in the proposal process.
• Develop, design, and edit original applications or modify third-party applications.
• May specialize in one or more areas of development, e.g. front end.
• Travel up to 15%

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in years of relevant work experience.
• 10+ years of software development experience with at least 1-2 years in a leadership role.
• Expert in Java and React.
• Experience with cloud platforms e.g., AWS.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns and best practices.
• Passionate about quality, scalable, well-built and easy-to-use applications.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with Agile-scrum development processes and methodologies.
• Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and experience deploying products leveraging these methodologies.
• Team player with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and goals
