As a Lead Infrastructure Engineer at JPMorgan Chase as a part of our Infrastructure Support team, your endless curiosity about technology will help you propel innovation and your career Working in a team of highly motivated people like you, you’ll work with customers and be accountable for production incidents, problems, change management, internal and external communications, lifecycle management and product evolution. You’ll help develop functional goals and priorities that align with our overall strategy. You’ll collaborate with our talented and dedicated problem-solving technologists across the JPMorgan Chase & Co. global network. Your expertise in various network technologies and standards will be counted on to troubleshoot, identify, and solve complex and mission critical problems internally and externally.

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification on network operations concepts and 5+ years applied experience
  • The Network Engineer must have a 5+ years enterprise in network operations.
  • Strong knowledge of routing and switching.
  • Proficient in load balancing technologies and experience with web proxies.
  • Skilled in next‑generation firewalls.
  • Hands‑on with protocol analyzers: NetFlow, Riverbed, Wireshark, cPacket.
  • Familiar with management and monitoring tools (e.g., SevOne, ThousandEyes, Grafana, etc.).
  • Familiar with one specific infrastructure technology and scripting languages (e.g., Scripting, Python, etc.).
  • Deep knowledge of one or more areas of infrastructure engineering such as hardware, networking terminology, databases, storage engineering, deployment practices, integration, automation, scaling, resilience, or performance assessments.
  • Drives to continue to develop technical and cross-functional knowledge outside of the product.
  • Deep knowledge of cloud infrastructure and multiple cloud technologies with the ability to operate in and migrate across public and private clouds.

Nice To Haves

  • Networking and security engineering: expert knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, DNS, TLS, firewalls/WAF, NAC, VPN, and zero-trust patterns.
  • Observability and incident leadership: mastery of logging, metrics, tracing (e.g., Splunk, Thousand Eyes, etc.) with calm, data-driven leadership during major incidents and effective postmortems.
  • Enterprise experience in network operations in the financial industry.
  • Technical leadership and stakeholder communication: ability to mentor engineers, drive cross-functional roadmaps, write clear Workflow docs, and influence decisions with crisp, executive-ready communication. nterprise in network operations, preferably in the financial industry.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a Senior Network Rapid Response Engineer (NRR) leading the team in Incident and Problem Management.
  • Drive Major Incident resolution and lead initiatives for Incident Reduction.
  • Mentor and develop NRR team members to elevate overall capability.
  • Build and mature an engineering discipline within the (NRR) engineering teams.
  • Combine processes, tools, and DevOps practices to create innovative engineering solutions for operational problems.
  • Applies technical expertise and problem-solving methodologies to projects of moderate scope.
  • Drives a workstream or project consisting of one or more infrastructure engineering technologies.
  • Works with other platforms to architect and implement changes required to resolve issues and modernize the organization and its technology processes.
  • Executes creative solutions for the design, development, and technical troubleshooting for problems of moderate complexity.
  • Strongly considers upstream/downstream data and systems or technical implications and advises on mitigation actions.
  • Adds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect.
