About The Position

Provides knowledge and expertise in electrical systems/instrumentation as well as power generation and distribution, including inspection, troubleshooting and repair. Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of Lead Instrumentation, Electrical & Power Technician located in Pasadena, Texas through, March 17th at 11:59 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time). Successful candidates will be competent and skilled in all aspects of the IE&A craft. This includes but not limited to construction and support of electronic, electrical, and instrument equipment. Instrumentation systems that include 4-20 mA current loops, smart transmitters, thermocouple monitoring systems, vibration monitoring systems, process alarms and controls, programmable logic controllers, foundation field buss, pneumatic instrumentation systems, electrical distribution systems, electrical motor control systems. All candidates will be required to successfully demonstrate the ability to climb heights up to 200 feet and satisfy confined space entry testing. Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to: • Performing a variety of field and shop work on electrical, instrument and analyzer maintenance, project and construction assignments. This includes installing cable tray, conduits, and wire pulling. • Installing, troubleshooting, and supporting electronic, electrical, and instrument equipment and systems that include 4-20 mA current loops, smart transmitters, thermocouple monitoring systems, vibration monitoring systems, process alarms and controls, programmable logic controllers, foundation field buss, pneumatic instrumentation systems, electrical distribution systems, and electrical motor control, and analyzer systems. • Organizing, planning, and executing daily work assignments. • Following routine duties, safe work practices and demonstrating safe work behaviors. • Working with other functional departments such as Reliability, Operations, and Engineering on a daily basis. • Successful candidates will typically work a 4x10 dayshift work schedule. Typical shifts are Monday - Thursday but can vary based on business needs. Shift work and overtime are often required. The position can also be called out after normal work hours as needed. • Work associated with this position typically involves working outdoors year-round.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • A valid Driver’s License
  • Ability to obtain a TWIC
  • Basic computer skills , Microsoft Office.
  • 2 years’ work experience (military service is considered work experience) or completed an accredited trade/vocational program.
  • All candidates will be required to successfully demonstrate the ability to climb heights up to 200 feet and satisfy confined space entry testing.

Nice To Haves

  • Successful completion of an Internship in the Oil and Gas Industry as an Instrument & Electrical Intern or formalized apprenticeship training program.
  • Relevant instrumentation or electrical trade school.
  • Minimum 5 years industrial experience in the instrumentation and/or electrical field.
