Job Summary The Cable ONE Lead Software Engineer will: * Design, architect, build, and deploy complex solutions for: - Advanced software applications - Database designs and\or database logic - Interfaces - Vendor deployments - MSO network components * Mentor, train, and provide technical escalation support for the Product Software Engineering Team. * Review quality of work of eight Software Engineers. Technical Skills * Minimum 5 years proven experience with the following technologies, software and methodologies: - Java or C#, VB.Net - Visual Studio IDE 2010/2013 - Eclipse IDE - Microsoft Services Framework (WCF, ASMX) - .Net Framework 4.0 - Microsoft IIS or JBOSS or WebLogic - Microsoft MSSQL - SQL Server Management Studio - Load Runner or other testing software - TFS, GIT - XML/SOAP - OOP, MVVM, MVC - UML Design Documentation - Microsoft Visio - Test Driven Development - Waterfall SDLC Responsibilities * Analysis, design, development and testing is 80% of the expected responsibility. * Perform design for the OSS/BSS environments as it relates to Cable One products and services. * Operate the initial implementation of new hardware and/or software as it relates to active Cable One projects. * Maintain & upgrade the Data Center environments and labs. * Perform vendor product related lab evaluations and comparison documentation, including participation in the Request for Proposal (RFP) or Request for Information (RFI) process. * Manage ongoing vendor relationships, deliverables, and vendor product roadmap. * Analyze project requests to estimate time and cost required to accomplish project. * Work as part of a project team to coordinate software environments and determine project scope and limitations. * Ensure Change Management compliance. * Attend company selected conferences and events to review and learn upcoming technologies. * Perform on-call duties as assigned. * Note: All the essential functions of this position are not included in this posting. Job Requirements Education & Experience * Bachelors degree (B.A.) from four-year College or University; or five years related experience and/or training in application development programming languages such as .NET or Java; or equivalent combination of education and experience. * 5+ years experience with the following: * Large scale integrated multi system environments. * Performing vendor management, * Building and supporting enterprise web services. * Working with cable provider back office systems. * Building and supporting integration with telecom\cable provider network elements. Preferred Experience * Previous working experience with a MSO (Multiple System Operators) in the cable industry. * Intermediate certification: * Database technologies such as SQL Server or Oracle. * Operating Systems such as Windows or UNIX. * Application server technologies such as IIS, JBOSS, WebLogic, BizTalk. * Advanced certification in Programming Languages such as .Net or Java. Skills * Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint). * Superb analytical and troubleshooting skills. * A self-starter with sound problem solving and troubleshooting skills. * Must be a flexible team player that observes Cable ONEs Basic Principles.
