The MRI department is a team of people that have come together to make sure we give our patients and their families the best experience possible. Summary Provides work direction to ensure that daily responsibilities of staff technologists are properly delegated and has good communicative skills. Perform diagnostic radiographic imaging procedures through the operation of specialized equipment. Facilitates staff schedules, workflow adjustments, mentors other MRI technologists, and trains new hires. Job Description Assumes the role of the leader in the absence of the supervisor. Performs diagnostic magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) exams. Exercises professional judgment in the performance of procedures, MRI safety considerations and provides a quality patient care experience. Initiates life support measures as necessary. The technologist must be able to interact effectively and have good communication skills with patients and their family members, physicians, and other health care workers. Has extensive knowledge of operation of all MRI equipment and understands computer language. Positions the patient and provides for comfort during the exam. Administers contrast material as required. Obtains patient history and clinical indication for MRI study. Accurately documents in patient records. Utilizes electronic medical record software for accurate scheduling and billing procedures. Possesses the ability to professionally obtain information from patients or their responsible parties, to further improve their personalized treatment and care. On a continuum, the technologist works to develop an understanding of the patient's physical and emotional status. Possesses extensive knowledge of cross-section anatomy. Works well with patients of all ages.
