Lead Maintenance Technician Responsibilities Technical Responsibilities Perform oil changes and routine maintenance services Check and top off transmission fluid and other fluid levels Inspect belts, hoses, filters, and related components Perform accurate and thorough multi-point inspections Test systems and components to ensure proper operation Drive vehicles for testing purposes as needed Maintain efficiency and accuracy in diagnosing and repairing vehicles Repair or replace worn parts before breakdown or damage occurs Use power tools, machine tools, and common hand tools safely and effectively Leadership & Oversight Responsibilities Lead and supervise multiple Quick Lube technicians on a daily basis Set clear expectations for productivity, quality, safety, and customer care Monitor technician efficiency and ensure workflow remains consistent and organized Perform quality control checks prior to vehicle delivery Train, mentor, and develop entry-level technicians Ensure proper completion of MPIs and accurate documentation Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop environment Communicate effectively with Service Advisors and Service Management Provide performance feedback and assist management with team evaluations Promote a positive, team-oriented culture built on accountability and professionalism Maintain a focused, distraction-free work environment Set and enforce standards regarding appropriate personal cell phone usage while clocked in, ensuring phones are used only for business-related purposes or during designated break periods Address productivity, safety, or professionalism concerns promptly and consistently Lead Maintenance Technician Requirements Ford Certification is a plus Previous Ford dealership experience preferred Demonstrated leadership or team lead experience strongly preferred Strong ability to identify vehicle concerns quickly Knowledge of automotive systems and maintenance procedures Effective analytical and communication skills Strong reading, computer, and mathematics skills Ability to learn new technology and service procedures Comfortable operating electronic diagnostic equipment High school diploma or GED required Technical degree preferred ASE certifications preferred Minimum 2 years in a service department environment preferred Ability to lift 50 pounds and work on your feet for extended periods Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Basic computer skills Positive, professional, team-focused attitude We are an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
