About The Position

The Manufacturing Lead – 3rd Shift, reports to the Manufacturing Supervisor. The Lead’s primary focus is to support the entire Manufacturing operations teams with day-to-day cross-technical support. Leads are curious, creative problem-solvers who never tire with the thrill of getting things just right to make a high-quality product. Leads are team players and can jump in and help at a moment’s notice.

Requirements

  • Completion of High School education or equivalent
  • 2 years of direct machine operator experience in a manufacturing environment and/or with the advanced knowledge of operating a minimum of 2 digital machines
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment (24 hour turnaround on product)
  • Passion for maintaining health and safety requirements.
  • Attention to detail related to product quality and machine process quality
  • Aptitude for mechanical operation, manufacturing processes, and procedures
  • Basic math skills and superb attention to detail and product quality
  • Excellent attendance and punctuality - accurately record work time on a daily basis
  • Interest and ability to grow professionally with support from StickerGiant

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct support across multiple functional manufacturing areas, including daily workflow schedule execution, workstation setup, operating machines, training operators, maintenance, etc.
  • Visually observe the manufacturing floor to evaluate manufacturing bottlenecks and actively communicate with department supervisors and machine operators to assess where support is needed
  • Maintain intermediate knowledge of most machines, manufacturing processes, and required maintenance
  • Assist supervisors with daily stand-ups and shift transfer
  • Main point of contact for information and guidance regarding items throughout the shop
  • Maintain a high degree of visibility, access and open communication with all team members
  • Consistently evaluate all operation stations to ensure optimum efficiency and quality
  • Monitor compliance with all safety, quality, and professional policies and report discrepancies to supervisor
  • Understand and work toward daily/weekly/monthly goals and objectives by operator and shift
  • Ensure regular maintenance schedules are followed
  • Ensure all work produced meets or exceeds QA/QC guidelines set forth by the department leadership team
  • Perform regular quality checks and participate in weekly safety walks
  • Be main point of contact for approving quality defects
  • Investigate reported product defects and follow procedures for timely reporting and documentation
  • Assist with implementation of process improvement projects
  • Respond to team member issues in a timely, forthright and thoughtful manner
  • Help facilitate training of new employees on how to safely use machinery and follow procedures
  • In the event that a supervisor is out you are the main point of contact
  • Track delayed and multi-part jobs in the shop and work to get them shipped
  • Other duties as assigned
