This role offers a high-impact opportunity to lead the design, development, and delivery of electro-mechanical systems for client-facing projects. The Lead Mechatronics Engineer will combine deep expertise in mechanical and electrical engineering to create innovative hardware solutions, overseeing projects from concept to production. You will work closely with hardware engineers, directors, and clients to align design, testing, and manufacturing processes with modern software and data-driven methods. This position emphasizes hands-on technical leadership, mentoring junior engineers, and contributing to continuous improvement in engineering standards. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced, collaborative environments and excels at solving complex technical challenges while driving measurable outcomes for clients.

Requirements

  • BS in Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering field (MS preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience designing and testing electro-mechanical systems; 10+ years preferred
  • Expertise in MCAD, familiarity with ECAD, and knowledge of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) practices
  • Experience with microprocessors, microcontrollers, IoT protocols, sensors, hardware prototyping tools, and embedded firmware
  • Strong communication and client-facing skills, including negotiation and presentation capabilities
  • Proven ability to lead complex technical projects and mentor engineering teams
  • Demonstrated mastery of agile project management and delivery of hardware products from concept to production
  • Must be U.S.-based; Visa sponsorship not provided

Responsibilities

  • Lead technical delivery of electro-mechanical hardware systems for client projects, ensuring design, testing, and production objectives are met
  • Oversee the design, prototyping, and validation of mechanical and electrical components, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams
  • Serve as a technical mentor, teaching best practices and growing the capabilities of other engineers
  • Drive project planning, sprint execution, and agile workflows, ensuring accurate estimates and timely delivery
  • Partner with directors and stakeholders to improve engineering standards, processes, and documentation
  • Participate in client-facing activities, providing technical guidance, problem-solving, and support for project success
  • Contribute to the evolution of hardware engineering practices, aligning them with modern software, data, and design methodologies
