About The Position

RAYUS now offers DailyPay! Work today, get paid today! RAYUS Radiology is looking for a Lead MRI Technologist to join our team. As a Lead MRI Technologist, you will be responsible for the leadership and management of assigned MRI technologists, operating an MRI scanner to produce images of the patient's body for diagnostic purposes, and ensuring that services are provided within professional standards and with excellent customer service. The Lead MRI Technologist remains self-motivated to increase level of understanding and knowledge in the modality field, diseases, and new procedures as they evolve.

Requirements

  • High School diploma, or equivalent
  • Graduate of an American Medical Association (AMA) approved school of radiography
  • ARRT or ARMRIT registered technologist, current and in good standing, depending on State regulations and business need
  • Five (5) years' MRI imaging experience
  • One (1) year experience mentoring and servicing as a resource, including identifying process improvement opportunities
  • Licensed Radiological Technologist in the appropriate state, if applicable
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
  • Must have sufficient training and experience to competently perform MRI procedures independently
  • Certification in imaging specialty

Responsibilities

  • Screens patient before exam for any precautions or contradictions pertaining to examination, using two patient identifiers to ensure the correct patient and procedure
  • Explains and prepares patients for MRI procedures that will be performed, explaining the procedure, positioning patients so that the parts of the body can be appropriately scanned
  • Performs routine and advanced MRI procedures on designated portions of the body for use by physicians in the diagnosing and treating of patient illness and/or injury with minimal amount of supervision or repeated scanned, while providing patient support by talking to patients throughout procedure
  • Adjusts MRI scan parameters correctly and as needed
  • Follows physicians' orders precisely, conforms to safety regulations, and accurately maintains patient records within Radiology Information System (RIS)
  • Maintain a positive attitude and positive working relationships with radiologists, and referring customers and other team members and peers
  • Maintains an orderly and clean work area including sanitized equipment promoting good safety habits for patients and team members
  • Maintains equipment in good working order; cleans and disinfects equipment after each use
  • Maintains ACR toolkit and accreditation requirements
  • Ensures compliance with all HIPAA guidelines
  • Assists with maintaining an updated imaging protocol manual and software upgrades
  • Monitors medical supply inventory and requests supplies as necessary
  • Assists in the training of new team members, providing resource and technical expertise, as applicable
  • Support and enhance the overall team by acting as a resource for new and long-term team members
  • Assists in the hiring process for new team members
  • Coordinates the training and onboarding of new team members
  • Schedules and Leads regular team meetings and regular team member one-on-one meetings
  • Monitors and approves timecards
  • Initiates and participates in performance reviews, development, and performance management of team members
  • Develops team member schedules to provide for planned time off, ensuring appropriate staffing levels and adequate coverage
  • Evaluates workflow and implements process improvements for the team
  • Ensures team has knowledge of company and department policies and corresponding procedures are in place
  • Supports team members to ensure the highest level of patient satisfaction
  • Leads special projects and/or committees, as assigned
