What this job involves: The Building Engineer is responsible for maintaining, monitoring, and repairing Mechanical, Plumbing, Structural, Furniture, Fire Life & Safety, and Control systems to keep facility, grounds, and building systems up to applicable standards. This critical role maintains responsibility for facility services, preventative maintenance, purchasing and inventory control, contracted maintenance, general maintenance, and technical proficiency. You'll work with advanced building systems including Computerized Maintenance and Management Systems (CMMS), Building Automation Systems (BAS), and Building Control Systems to ensure optimal facility operations while delivering exceptional customer service to tenants and clients. What your day-to-day will look like: • Maintain and update current CMMS information for all building operating systems including HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Life Safety • Execute preventive maintenance services of various building operating systems and equipment, performing and delegating tasks accordingly • Respond to online service requests ensuring work is performed professionally, efficiently, and with minimum disruption to clients • Oversee activities of contractors working within the building and review quality and pricing of work performed by outside contractors • Respond effectively to emergencies and support after-hours building related activities as requested • Maintain detailed inventory of parts and equipment, submitting replacement requests and assisting with new equipment installations • Interact with tenants and client employees, fielding complaints and concerns while maintaining positive customer relationships Required Qualifications: • High school diploma or GED equivalent • Certification in at least one trade • 4 years of industry experience in corporate environment or third-party service provider • Working knowledge of computer applications including Word, Excel, and email systems • Electrical and mechanical aptitude with ability to analyze system operations and troubleshoot problems • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. and use ladders up to 26 feet • Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills Preferred Qualifications: • Knowledge of office furniture systems and installation procedures • Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS) and Direct Digital Control (DDC) systems • Previous experience in commercial real estate or facility management environments • Understanding of Federal, State, County, and City building codes and ordinances • Experience with JLL Engineering Services Compliance Program or similar facility compliance programs Location: On-site Work Shift: Standard business hours This position does not provide visa sponsorship.
