About This Opportunity The Lead Process Engineer Store Fulfillment, will work alongside team members from the business, to understand current situation, identify drivers for improvement, analyze root causes of performance gaps, redesign end-to-end processes as part of the deployment of the lean system to a process or business area (e.g. business areas include: Stores digital fulfillment measurable goals, team member efficiency work, digital initiative cost analysis, and specific merchandising business Support). Through their partnership, Lead process engineers will support an environment that reinforces continuous improvement of business processes, increases consistency, reduces guest pain points and empowers other team members to enhance the value of the service they provide to guests. As a Lead process engineer, you’ll take the lead as you… Takes a hands-on approach to ensure the diagnostic, design and implementation of Lean tools within the business is performed to high standard and is consistent with Target’s store fulfillment program Leads workstreams/ business team portfolios as part of process diagnostics and design to identify impactful opportunities for operational improvements across end to end value streams Analytics – gather information and perform data analyses, information integrity assessment Facilitation – lead small and large groups (junior to senior management) Training – deliver training to all levels, as a store fulfillment Expert Utilizes problem solving efforts on key projects to improve quality, reduce cost and eliminate waste Helps run working sessions with business stakeholders that drive to conclusions, agreement and outcomes Analyzes project metrics and creates reports on process performance against project initiatives and goals to support the businesses objectives Translates business needs into requirements, respecting a guest-centric perspective and end-to-end design vision Coaches process teams and on the standard lean systems, tools, techniques, mindsets and behaviors Becomes a Subject Matter Expert over the implementation of projects/initiatives in Target’s store fulfillment practices, development of frameworks, methodology design, tool suite selection, etc. May coach senior management and client teams in the use of practice methodologies and tools Develops and executes detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates resource plans, and status reports Provides leaders with project status updates, feedback, and appropriate reporting on key process focused objectives Core responsibilities of this job are described within this job description. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in Industrial Engineering or related degree
  • Minimum of 5+ years of work experience in IE (Process Improvement) field
  • 6 Sigma Black Belt Certified or demonstrated knowledge of Lean or Six Sigma
  • Willing to take risks, challenge the status quo and work under ambiguous circumstances
  • Able to use data to influence senior leaders and defend his/her perspective
  • Ability to structure ambiguous problems, analyze complex processes, synthesize data and results, and drive toward insight and solutions
  • Competent in project management; has the ability to manage tight deadlines
  • Strong influencing skills together with relationship building skills
  • Desire to learn new capabilities and enable others to do the same

Responsibilities
