Requirements

  • Ortho Assisting: 2 years (Required)
  • High school or equivalent (Required)

Nice To Haves

  • English/Spanish (Preferred)
  • Willingness To Travel: 25% (Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Orthodontist with various procedures, including but not limited to, placing and removing braces, taking complete records, and fabricating retainers.
  • Educate patients and their families on proper oral hygiene and care for braces or other orthodontic appliances.
  • Review the patient’s chart, medical history and treatment plan and consent forms prior to treatment, identify any potential concerns for you and the orthodontist to consider.
  • Handle patient concerns and inquiries and ensure that all patient information is kept confidential.
  • Coordinate patient care, including scheduling appointments and communicating with patients and their families.
  • Train and supervise other orthodontic assistants in proper patient care and orthodontic procedures.
  • Ensure that the orthodontic office is clean, organized, and properly stocked with supplies.
  • Manage inventory and ordering of supplies, including ordering materials and equipment for the orthodontic office.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and update patient information as needed.
  • Stay up to date with new developments in orthodontic technology and techniques
  • Attend and participate in all office meetings, continuing education events and morning huddles.
  • Be compliant with state and federal OSHA laws, infection control, safety standards in the office and operatory.
