Lead Power Systems Engineer

PROTOGEN INC

About The Position

The Lead Engineer is a key leadership role that will assist the Partners in growing ProtoGen’s capabilities and client offerings. You will report to the Executive Vice President. You will be given significant trust to develop, perform and deliver client-based opportunities. Your work activities will generally be related to microgrids, distributed energy resources (DER), and electric vehicle infrastructure (EVI) technology deployment; however, the fast-paced energy market requires flexibility and the capability of expanding skillsets and offerings. You will support the design of ambitious microgrid projects from the ground up. Pre-construction, you prepare cost budgets, a basis of design and perform analysis and system modeling. During construction, you oversee external engineering and construction efforts on behalf of ProtoGen’s clients. Outside of project work, you support ProtoGen’s education program, disseminating knowledge and resources to the next generation of engineers. The ideal candidate for this role will possess a deep understanding of the energy industry, as well as strong leadership and project management skills. The ability to design new and innovative solutions from a blank page will be critical as ProtoGen is often the first point in the project development chain. Strong communication and collaboration skills are critical for success in this role, as is the ability to wear many hats. This is a key hire that will be given significant responsibility. The role is perfect for a dynamic self-starter with a desire to grow and manage a team.
