This Monday-Friday role follows a 6am-2pm schedule, with opportunities for overtime and career growth.

Requirements

  • Three to five years of experience in press operation and/or leadership roles; leadership training or program completion preferred.
  • Strong understanding of production processes, quality standards, and extrusion operations.
  • Proficient in reading blueprints, using precision measuring tools, and performing basic math and computer tasks.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work independently in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to handle sensitive situations professionally.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with ISO processes preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operates and oversees aluminum extrusion press functions, including billet temperature control, die sequencing, and maintaining optimal press speed and conditions.
  • Performs frequent quality checks, inspects material for non‑conformities, and collaborates with Die Shop/Management to resolve production issues.
  • Reviews production schedules, calculates billet requirements, and ensures efficient, cost‑effective order flow.
  • Troubleshoots and performs basic maintenance/repairs on press equipment and fills in on press positions as needed.
  • Utilizes measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, tape measures, gauges) and reads blueprints/part drawings to verify product accuracy.
  • Maintains a clean, safe, and organized work area while following all company safety and quality procedures.
  • Leads and directs the press crew to ensure consistent workflow, productivity, and adherence to quality standards.
  • Trains new employees, provides ongoing coaching, and adapts leadership style to individual team members.
  • Communicates effectively across all shifts to ensure smooth handoffs and alignment on production goals.
  • Builds positive working relationships, promotes teamwork, and maintains fairness and consistency in employee interactions.
  • Provides performance feedback, supports employee reviews, and recommends recognition or improvements to the Extrusion Manager.
  • Participates in continuous improvement efforts, offering input on processes, quality enhancements, and cost‑reduction opportunities.
