About The Position

As a lead Production Planner, you will spearhead submarine modernization efforts, specifically overseeing the integration and accuracy of Logistics Technical Data (LTD). You will serve as the primary link between Mission Technologies and key stakeholders, ensuring all work aligns with Navy requirements and Planning Yard (PY) guidelines.

Requirements

  • 10 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 8 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 14 years relevant experience.
  • Candidate must have experience in leading technical teams through the complexities of submarine life-cycle modernization, including the management of Logistics Technical Data (LTD) and alteration packages for diverse naval submarine platforms.
  • Candidate must have experience in orchestrating MCR and TMDER submissions while maintaining rigorous schedule adherence and fiscal accountability.
  • Candidate must have experience in liaising with Planning Yard (PY) task owners to align modernization efforts with naval ship schedules.
  • Candidate must have experience in naval electrical distribution and auxiliary systems, with a proven track record of managing shipboard technical data and modernization life cycles.
  • Candidate must have a Confidential Security Clearance.

  • Extensive experience in a Lead Test Engineer capacity, providing the managerial oversight and technical direction necessary to drive large-scale modernization projects. Must demonstrate the ability to supervise multi-disciplinary teams and manage complex testing lifecycles.
  • Leverages a background as a Navy Nuclear-Trained Operator to provide unmatched technical oversight and schedule integrity. Deeply familiar with the rigorous documentation, safety protocols, and quality assurance standards required for nuclear-powered vessel maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, prepares, issues and controls production schedules and coordinates with material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials timed to meet production requirements.
  • Advises management of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials and services are provided as needed.
  • Schedules equipment and personnel, confirms material supply and demands, prepares work orders or purchase requests for the production or purchase of components or parts based on a master production schedule, shop load and inventory requirements.
  • Coordinates interdepartmental activity with quality assurance, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, inventory control, traffic, etc.
  • Schedules and expedites the movement of parts by means of move orders, stock transfers and requests for shipping orders.
  • Directs the scheduling and execution of modernization tasks to ensure total alignment with the target platform’s technical specifications and operational timelines.
  • Standardize Task Lead training to ensure active management of all alteration progressions.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for issue resolution, collaborating with MT leadership and the Planning Yard (PY) to implement corrective actions and maintain schedule integrity.
  • Oversee the ROM estimation process by partnering with Task Leads to produce high-fidelity projections.
  • Ensure all estimates are grounded in historical performance metrics and the latest technical specifications to maintain budget integrity and schedule alignment.
  • Oversee the continuous synchronization of the LTD tracker database to provide an accurate 'single source of truth' for all modernization efforts.
  • Proactively manage project shifts—ranging from funding and GFI constraints to changes in target hull assignments and delivery timelines.
