About The Position

The Lead Quality Engineer is a results‑driven technical leader responsible for deploying the Eaton Quality System, methods, and tools to eliminate and prevent quality issues, reduce Cost of Non-Conformance, and elevate organizational capability. This role leads the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS) processes. In addition, the successful candidate will assist on quality and production processes, i.e., Call Back reports, Quality Reports, Revision Logs, Calibrated Tools, tracking data from FAT inspection punch lists, customer Audits and document control.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Three (3) years of experience in engineering or quality, working in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
  • One (1) year of hands-on experience in an ISO-9001 certified environment.

  • Works directly with Assistant Supervisors, Supervisors, Managers, and employees to develop strong and collaborative working relationships.
  • Utilizes proper PPE (including protective eyewear, hearing protection, a hard hat and steel-toed footwear), safety equipment, and follows all safety procedures.
  • Ability and willingness to work outside in all weather conditions, including cold and heat.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Five (5) years of experience as a quality engineer supporting a large industrial/manufacturing environment.
  • Three (3) years of experience with ISO-9001.
  • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Lean Six Sigma Certification, or ISO Lead Auditor Certification.
  • Previous experience working within a quality management system.

Responsibilities

  • Lead manufacturing quality processes and drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Be directly responsible and accountable for quality performance
  • Revise, create, and controls Quality Manuals and Standard Operations Procedures (SOPs).
  • Creates and revises works instructions for the production teams
  • Verifies Mil certs are accurate and current
  • Lead structured problem-solving (8D, A3, PFMEA, root cause analysis)
  • Prioritize and lead complex investigations across engineering, suppliers, and operations
  • Design and maintain QMS processes and documentation
  • Ensure compliance EQMS requirements
  • Maintain in-process verification, inspection plans, and preventive controls
  • Lead supplier quality activities including PPAP and corrective actions
  • Partner with suppliers and customers to strengthen quality system confidence
  • Resolve customer issues with urgency
  • Facilitate audits and demonstrate compliance
  • Support NPD within Pro-Launch
  • Drive error-proofing and source-based quality control
