About The Position

Overview Job Title: Lead Quality Engineer Job Location: Melville, NY (100% onsite) Salary: $100,000-$150,000/yr DOE Responsibilities Drive process improvements throughout our organization. Implement established methods and procedures for testing and inspecting the quality level of products and production equipment. Analyze failure reports and returned products and report corrective action to customers. Prepare and maintains defect trend analysis reports. May be required to witness in-plant testing of electronic equipment in accordance with an approved test procedure. Inspect a variety of complex electrical, electronic, and electro-mechanical items for workmanship acceptability as well as complex and precision mechanical parts and assemblies for acceptability by using a variety of tools, gages, and basic shop math. Records results of inspections in the MRP system and prepares inspection reports, identifying approved and rejected quantities. Instructs and trains employees in processes or methods in accordance with departmental procedures, practices and/or process sheets. Responsible for performing source inspections and reducing the variability of purchased materials through strong leadership and continual improvement of supplier quality planning processes. Maintain quality standards by approving in-process production and finished products and recording quality results. Approve incoming materials by confirming specifications, and alloys conducting visual and measurement tests, rejecting, and returning unacceptable materials. Establish and maintain a vendor/outsource database. Manage all non-conforming materials. Perform internal quality audits and external supplier quality audits. Flow down to vendors and /or outsourced customer-imposed requirements. Qualifications Associate degree or ASQ-CE certification or equivalent experience required. J-STD-001 and IPC-610 knowledge and/or certifications required. 7 years' experience in quality control inspection with electronic components as well as Quality Assurance/Manufacturing experience including SMT high reliability electronics in a ISO9001/AS9100 environment. Requirements

  • Associate degree or ASQ-CE certification or equivalent experience required.
  • J-STD-001 and IPC-610 knowledge and/or certifications required.
  • 7 years' experience in quality control inspection with electronic components as well as Quality Assurance/Manufacturing experience including SMT high reliability electronics in a ISO9001/AS9100 environment.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency, Costpoint
