About The Position

This position is an advanced practitioner of recovery support services in a Permanent Supportive Housing program model, offering both Housing First and Sober Living options. The Lead Recovery Support Coordinator will serve Park Center members as part of a recovery-oriented, housing-focused intensive case management (ICM) team.

Requirements

  • Must have at least 3 years of experience working in a peer recovery support role and/or at least 5 years’ experience working in a human services field.
  • Able to demonstrate strong support competencies and ethical behaviors.
  • Must have proven written and verbal communication skills and computer literacy.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a human services field required; 5 years’ experience in a peer support role may be substituted for college degree.
  • Must have a valid Tennessee Driver’s License.
  • Must be able to show proof of personal automobile insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Member Support Duties: A. Engage residents in vivo utilizing a trauma lens and cultural humility to quickly establish trust and build rapport. B. Provide recovery-oriented tenancy support taking a strengths-based, person-centered approach. C. Partner with PSH members to help them achieve goals that are personally meaningful to them, extending beyond those areas traditionally addressed by clinical care. D. Support PSH members in recovery by offering experience with whole health recovery that includes addressing wellness of both mind and body. E. Provide insight into the experience of internalized stigma and how to combat it, sharing personal experience of moving from hopelessness to hope. F. Coach PSH members on independent living skills, connect with community resources, and develop systems to support sustainability. G. Encourage PSH members to engage with their community through employment, volunteering, and/or recreational/social activities. H. Assist PSH members with developing interpersonal skills to connect with their housemates and neighbors, and to expand their natural support system.
  • Create, maintain, and review documentation for agency and funding requirements within all designated deadlines.
  • Public/Staff Relations: A. Communicate with internal and external partners utilizing telephone, email, and chat. B. Communicate regularly with the Permanent Supportive Housing team to meet the needs of residents. C. Develop effective working relationships with human services organizations.

  • Collaborate with staff, members, and the community to gain the perspectives of others having diverse opinions, abilities, values, beliefs, perspectives, and ethnic or cultural backgrounds.
  • Take deliberate steps to increase their own cultural competency by attending trainings, events, discussions, workshops, etc.
  • Other duties as member of the Permanent Supportive Housing team: A. Attend all staff and supervision meetings. B. Assist with program events and outings. C. Participate in on-call rotation. D. Maintain schedule flexibility in the event of after-hours responsibilities. E. Maintain good attendance and inform supervisor in advance of time off. F. Complete Relias Learning courses by deadline. G. Follow all Personnel Policies and uphold Park Center’s Code of Ethics. H. Perform all other duties assigned.
  • Team Lead specific duties: A. Mentor and train PSH Recovery Support Coordinators on basic care management skills (i.e., documentation process and content, resources, advocacy, referrals, motivational interviewing, trauma-informed care, and harm reduction/housing first principles). B. Assist with facilitating supervision meetings with PSH Recovery Support Coordinators as necessary. C. Develop connections with community resources to provide ongoing training and education to team members to further professional development for the team. D. Serve as a resource for education/training, community resources, and fellow team members’ feedback. E. Answer team members' questions and provide additional assistance around member needs. F. Assist with completing monthly reports and pulling necessary data for reports. G. Lead team meetings and provide training as needed. H. Complete note audits as needed. I. Provide support to the Program Manager with running the day-to-day operations of the program. J. Serve as a leader at community meetings as a support for PSH Manager(s) as needed.
