About The Position

Full time position for a Lead Section Lab Supervisor at our south campus. The Lead Section Lab Supervisor assists the Laboratory Section Supervisors, the Quality Assurance Supervisor and the Laboratory Manager in the operational and technical management of assigned sections by ensuring proper day to day operations of the laboratory disciplines and serves as a resource person for problem solving.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Chemical, Physical or Biological Science required.
LSBME CLS-Generalist required.
3 years supervisory experience required.

Responsibilities

Must qualify as the Technical Supervisor as define in the CLIA regulations 42 CFR 493.1449
Designated as the Laboratory Safety Officer, including the management of Safety Data Sheet compilation. Assist other department supervisors with assay validation.
Ensure laboratory materials are properly stored, and laboratory storerooms are properly maintained and organized.
Collaborate with the Quality Assurance Supervisor to ensure all
Perform laboratory generalist duties to include all types of patient specimen testing as needed to support day shift.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Laboratory Manager or Director.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, CLIA and CAP
Manage all staffing concerns
Ensure that competency assessments are performed and completed within the required time frame as specified by the regulations
Organize and maintain all required documentation to prove compliance with CLIA and CAP regulatory requirements
Perform biannual CAP checklist self-inspection
Prepare and manage biannual CAP inspection
Attend monthly laboratory QA meetings and monthly blood bank meetings and other meetings as necessary at main and south campus
Manage proficiency testing.
Responsible for all Quality Assurance to include regulatory compliance, data compilation and review, and data management.
