About The Position

Spark Lead Site Directors provide a safe, diverse, and enriching environment for children. Spark Lead Site Directors manage Site directors and support staff by providing appropriate leadership, guidance, orientation, feedback, and support. This position is directly responsible for management and state licensing compliance of Spark on-site school day, and non-school day operations.

Requirements

  • Demonstrates a sincere desire and interest in working with children.
  • Must currently hold the title of Spark Site Director, or equivalent.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education, Early Childhood Education, related area, or equivalent work experience.
  • A minimum of two-year field experience working directly with children and staff in a management role.
  • Meets requirements for Director Position outlined in DHHS Licensing Handbook.
  • Willing to take 16 hours of annual training including CPR/First Aid Certification.
  • Must complete Pediatric CPR and First Aid and Prepare to Care trainings.

Responsibilities

  • Site Directors must be available to work Monday-Friday 6:15-8:30am, 3:30-6:00pm (Wednesday 2:00-6:00pm) including additional hours as required. Must also be willing to work consolidation and summer operations.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
  • Effectively communicate with our customers including greeting families and children daily while maintaining welcoming and informative spaces.
  • Establish, maintain, and mentor appropriate boundary behaviors.
  • Demonstrate professional appearance and work habits, including attire, punctuality, and attendance.
  • Use excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Effectively communicate documentation of issues to management and customers while maintaining confidentiality and upholding program policies and procedures.
  • Respond promptly and problem solve inquiries from families, state licensing representatives, Foundation staff, and District staff.
  • Train and provide ongoing staff support to care for the diverse needs of children in our programs.
  • Responsible for successfully completing the following tasks: Daily tracking and documentation of attendance, meal counts, incidents, accidents, and child behaviors.
  • Administer medication in compliance with state regulations and program policies; ensure staff are trained and following medical competency expectations.
  • Purchase supplies for site operations as needed; provide receipts for monthly budget spending.
  • Manage payroll processes, verifying staff timecards for each pay period.
  • Complete DHHS Child Care Subsidy processes.
  • Implement and supervise planned activities and field trips for school day and non-school day operations.
  • Manage site ratios, staff scheduling and time off, and attendance point system.
  • Document and complete worker’s compensation initial paperwork and follow-up in a timely manner.
  • Track and complete annual staff inservice requirements.
  • Preserve and update on-site child and staff files.
  • Operate on-site technology and office equipment, including but not limited to, computers, ipads/tablets, software, phones, fax machine and copier.
  • Provide site level orientation for new staff pertaining to and in compliance with licensing regulations.
  • Complete reporting process for suspicion of child abuse and neglect.
  • May be asked to substitute at other sites as needed.
  • Provide leadership and support Site Directors Manage a group of Site Directors; assisting with issues, concerns, and operational processes.
  • Provide Site Directors with advisement and training as needed, schedule weekly meetings with group of Site Directors.
  • Mentor Site Director Trainees by providing on-site training, support and guidance.
  • Serve as non-school day site leader for summer and consolidation operations.
  • Coordinate, implement and manage full-day site operations and enrichment programming.
  • Oversee one enrichment committee.
  • Schedule meetings, develop goals and timelines, designate assignments, provide progress reports, and train employees on committee outcomes.
  • Provide routine updates to Spark and HR administration as well as input on performance reviews.
  • Assist with Foundation Operations Attend meetings, workshops, and conferences as requested by Administration.
  • Assist with Foundation events and functions, during non-operational hours, as necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Administration.
