As a Visa Software Engineer, you will be a key member of a cross-functional development team, inventing, designing, building, and testing software products for a worldwide customer base. You will contribute to cutting-edge payment technology, shaping the digital future of monetary transactions.
Responsibilities
- Develop code and systems impacting 40% of the global population while influencing Visa internal standards for scalability, security, and reusability.
- Collaborate across teams to create design artifacts and develop best-in-class software solutions for various Visa technical offerings.
- Drive product quality improvements, enhance service technology, and innovate business flows within diverse agile teams.
- Create robust, scalable products for a wide range of customers, including end-user merchants, B2B, and business to government solutions.
- Utilize cutting-edge technologies to build next-generation Payment Services, Transaction Platforms, Real-Time Analytics and others contributing to company growth.
- Align enhancements and modifications to existing software coding standard processes and design specifications, across regions, and ensures they are aligned with current security standards.
- Guide the implementation of automation to improve effectiveness and efficiencies of systems and tools across regions.
- Maintain communication with regional leadership across functions to monitor and direct the cadence of code reviews, on-call rotations, and incident responses throughout product development and operations cycles.
- Leverage back-end technical expertise on underlying systems/platforms across the organization to lead the development systematic improvements in processes.
Requirements
- 10+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 7 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 4 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 13+ years of relevant work experience.
- Comprehensive proficiency in one or more general development languages (e.g., C#, JavaScript, C++, Java, Python).
- Experience building and deploying modern services and web applications with quality and scalability.
- Constant drive to learn new technologies such as React, Kubernetes, Docker, etc.
Nice-to-haves
- 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD.
- Knowledge of and ability to develop code in one of the languages C#, C++, JavaScript, Java in support of product development.
- The ability to select the best available values of some objective function to improve the functional effectiveness of web applications.
- The ability to design, develop and maintain Application Program Interfaces (APIs).
