About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Technical Engineer for a future funded position to provide technical leadership, oversee solution design, and guide engineering teams in delivering high-quality, mission-focused systems. The Lead Technical Engineer will play a critical role in shaping technical strategy, ensuring compliance with standards, and mentoring team members to achieve project success. Position requires an active TS/SCI with polygraph level clearance. US citizenship is required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field (Master's preferred).
  • 8+ years of engineering experience
  • Strong background in systems engineering, software engineering, system administration or related discipline.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) Foundation Certification or ability to obtain shortly upon acceptance
  • Experience with Agile or DevSecOps methodologies.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of CMMC, NIST, or other federal compliance frameworks.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the primary technical authority on the program, ensuring consistency, quality, and execution of the overall technical effort.
  • Works directly with customer leads and stakeholders to ensure technical solutions align with mission objectives, requirements, and performance expectations
  • Support Program Management Team with ramp-up and transition activities.
  • Provides direction oversight and technical direction to Task Leads.
  • Drive technical efficiencies across all tasks by fostering collaboration, technology sharing, innovation, best practices, and lessons learned.
  • Serve as the local Site Reliability Lead
  • Serves as a member of the Risk and Opportunity Management Board
  • Works with the tasks leads to track program risks and opportunities, creating mitigations and driving to closure
  • Create and track program technical metrics.
  • Provide input to program status reports and present technical status at to both internal and external leadership
  • Develop and review technical documentation, including design artifacts, interface specifications, and test plans.
  • Works with task leads to define key performance indicators (KPIs) against which to monitor progress and performance.
  • Works with task leads to create corrective action plans
  • Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of technical excellence and collaboration.
