About The Position

The primary purpose of the Lead Technologist Radiology (Mammography) is to work with the Manager Breast Imaging Center to coordinate schedules, and to help to supervise the daily operation of Breast Imaging services. Emphasis is on: Overseeing, meeting and documenting the American College of Radiology (ACR) Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) standards as regulated by the Federal Drug Administration. Oversees all details for submission of each piece of mammography equipment requiring accreditation with Regulatory and the ACR. Provides healthcare services by using medical imaging techniques and technology to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. Coordinates the allocation of technical staff on specific shifts to cover both in-house and the Mobile Mammography Van. Ensures the verification and completion of exams. Exercises professional judgment in the performance of services and maintains a demeanor complementary of medical ethics.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved school of radiologic technology.
  • Registered technologist with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Mammography Technologist.
  • Experienced in all mammography procedures and MQSA requirements.
  • Detail‑oriented in compiling statistics and documentation.
  • Excellent knowledge of radiography, RIS, and PACS.
  • Graduate of an approved radiology technology program.
  • NJ State radiology license and ARRT certification with active registration.
  • Five (5) years of Mammography technologist experience.
  • Must be certified in the service area applied for: MRI, CT, Angiography, Mammography, Ultrasound, or General Radiography.
  • Annual fit testing required.
  • Must maintain valid American Heart Association BLS/CPR certification.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with tact and diplomacy.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism in stressful or emergency situations.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior lead technologist experience preferred.

Responsibilities
