About The Position

Serves as technical resource in area of responsibility. Provides oversight of the technical components of the work in each individual laboratory department. In addition, the Lead Technician will continue to perform applied techniques for various chemical, microscopic, immunologic and/or microbiological tests to obtain data for use in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. Works with a focus in a specialty areas of the Laboratory, such as Blood Bank, Hematology, Chemistry, Serology and/or Microbiology. Receives and/or obtains specimens for laboratory analysis. Records laboratory test results. Performs training activities and special projects. In the absence of a Medical Technologist, may be asked to perform additional duties in order to ensure patient care needs are met through continuous work flow of the lab. Requirements

  • Associate's degree in medical Lab Science, required
  • Certification as an MLT from the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or
  • ASCP Categorical Certification specific for the laboratory section employed in (H, C, M, BB) is required.
  • Must have three (3) years of clinical laboratory experience
  • Demonstrates strong technical ability in the area of department oversight.
  • Demonstrates a positive professional attitude at all times.
