About The Position
The Learning Experience – Tuckahoe is seeking an experienced and energetic Lead Toddler Teacher to guide our 2-year-old classroom. This role is ideal for an early childhood educator who enjoys supporting toddlers as they build independence, language, and social-emotional skills in a structured and engaging environment.
Requirements
- One of the following required: 12 credits in Early Childhood Education, or CDA credential, or Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education
- Experience working with toddlers required
- Must meet NYC childcare licensing requirements
Nice To Haves
- Previous lead teacher experience preferred
- Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices
- CPR and First Aid preferred
Responsibilities
- Lead a toddler classroom in a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate setting
- Plan and implement hands-on learning experiences aligned with the L.E.A.P. curriculum
- Support language development, motor skills, and early independence
- Maintain consistent routines including meals, toileting, transitions, and rest time
- Supervise and support assistant teachers
- Communicate regularly with families regarding progress and daily activities
- Maintain compliance with NYC DOHMH licensing and safety requirements
