About The Position

Since 1952, Beacon Group has been creating opportunities for people with disabilities across Southern Arizona, Phoenix and beyond. As a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit, Beacon serves over 2000 people with disabilities each year. Beacon provides job training and placement, supported and center-based employment, and day treatment programs to assist the more than two-thirds of working-age people with disabilities who do not have a job. POSITION INTRODUCTION: The Vocational Technicians is responsible for providing high-quality services as defined by program specifications to clients in one or more programs. Services may be provided in individual and/or group settings as determined by contractual requirements and client needs. The Lead Vocational Technicians will provide instruction and skills development workshops and be responsible to supervise a team of Vocational Technicians who will also provide instruction and skills development workshops.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or its equivalent
  • Successfully pass the drug test and background check
  • CPR/First Aid certification, or able to obtain and maintain a CPR/ First Aid Certification
  • Fingerprint clearance card, or able to obtain and maintain a fingerprint clearance card
  • Current vehicle registration and insurance coverage

  • Have a valid Arizona Driver's License and pass the Beacon driving test
  • Article IX and Prevention and Support certificate or able to obtain and maintain certification
  • Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement lesson plans for various workshop topics
  • Ensure that all MITC information is input properly and in a timely manner.
  • Provide Quality Control for billing, case notes, and DDD reports.
  • Ensure that client timesheets are accurate for proper billing by service specification
  • Complete incident reports in accordance with current Beacon policy.
  • Develop structured activity schedules.
  • Supervise participants independent of other staff.
  • Attend annual ISP meetings, med reviews and other special meetings, and to present program data, as appropriate.
  • Be the main point of contact in the WOLVES Program along with other Leads
  • Responsible to ensure all clients arrive and depart Beacon in a safe and timely manner.
  • Maintain communication with transportation agencies and families ensuring the safety of all clients./li>
  • Provide program tours and conduct intakes.
  • Responsible for conducting performance evaluations and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Responsible for Coordinating the Fuerza in the Community Grant from Pima County Health Department.
