What Lead Yard brings to Hamlin Building Center Pull Loads Standard Deliveries Returns Will Calls Inventory Management Receiving Clean / Straighten Bins Job Description Pull Loads Effectively load & unload materials onto trucks for delivery or storage. Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment to handle heavy loads. Ensure accuracy in matching loads to orders and verify the quality of materials. Handle all goods to protect from equipment or weather damage. Standard Deliveries Drive delivery trucks to transport materials to customer job sites safely and effectively. Ensure product is protected from damage during transit as well as placement on site. Follow established delivery routes and schedules to meet customer deadlines. Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, including accurate product placement and friendly interaction. Returns Process returned materials efficiently, inspecting them for damage and ensuring proper documentation. Coordinate with the sales team to determine the reason for returns and facilitate exchanges or refunds as necessary. Restock materials following WMS process. Will Calls Assist customers who visit the yard for “Will Call” orders, ensuring they receive prompt and courteous service. Help customers locate and load their desired materials onto their vehicles. Assist customers with safe load securement and while protecting materials. Inventory Management Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records by monitoring stock levels and conducting regular counts. Replenish stock as needed to ensure adequate supply for customer demands. Work with the WMS system to update records and track movement of materials. Protect materials by storing indoors or maintaining protective wrapping. Receiving Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders, inspect for damage or defects, and accurately record quantities and product details within WMS. Communicate with LBM team immediately of any discrepancies or issues. Assist yard team to accurately place the materials in proper WMS locations to ensure accurate load pulling. Request inspection from LBM team for products that are questionable. Clean / Straighten Bins Maintain cleanliness and organization in the yard by regularly cleaning and straightening up bins, shelves and storage areas. Dispose of debris and waste properly to ensure a safe and tidy work environment.
