About The Position

Waypoint is seeking a bold, compassionate, and community-driven Lead Youth Navigator (LYN) to serve as the primary entry point for youth and young adults experiencing homelessness or housing crisis. If you are passionate about removing barriers, building authentic relationships, and working creatively in complex systems, this role offers meaningful impact every single day. As the Lead Youth Navigator, you are often the first person a young person meets when seeking help. You provide assessment, basic needs support, and light-touch case management while ensuring strong connections to longer-term housing and supportive services. You walk alongside youth until meaningful connections are secured — then thoughtfully step back as stability grows. You will: Serve as the central access point for Homeless Youth & Young Adult services Complete needs and Coordinated Entry assessments (HMIS experience a plus) Provide navigation support across housing, health, mental health, and community systems Respond to support requests within 24 business hours Partner with Drop-in Centers, Street Outreach, Shelter, and TLP teams Represent Waypoint in community coalitions and case consultation spaces Build strong relationships with community stakeholders Distribute outreach materials and expand community awareness Coach and support a Peer Navigator This role blends direct service, community engagement, systems coordination, and leadership. Requirements

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work across sectors and build partnerships
  • Innovation and program development skills
  • Sound judgment and self-motivation
  • A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Associate’s degree preferred (experience may substitute)
  • At least 1 year of related experience
  • Background check required (previous legal system involvement does not automatically exclude candidates)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with vulnerable populations, outreach, mental health, substance use, or sexual health is a plus
  • HMIS experience a plus
