About The Position

The Leadership Coach (Hybrid) is responsible to utilize NYCM’s leadership coaching model to: implement and engage in effective leadership coaching of Supervisors and Business Unit Managers alongside their leaders, helping to support new leaders and grow existing leaders. Coach leaders to exhibit the leadership behaviors found in the NYCM Leadership Success Profile (LSP), while providing leadership guidance based on team Insights colors. Work with leaders to unlock their full potential, create a healthy team environment and ensure a viable division manager leadership bench. Identify any leadership skill gaps, as well as improve and develop new and existing leadership skill sets. Work directly with leaders to inspire self-reflection and develop emotional intelligence. Work with leaders one on one or in groups to help them make successful change in their leadership behaviors. They will coach to NYCM’s North Star, mission, and core values.

Requirements

  • High School diploma
  • At least 2 years previous coaching experience in career development/leadership development.
  • Strong customer focus; approachable, patient and empathetic.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent understanding of NYCM leadership expectations.
  • High level understanding of corporate and divisional objectives and direction and an in-depth knowledge of corporate structure, divisional roles, and responsibilities.
  • Ability to handle high level difficult conversations and think quickly.
  • Ability to handle confidential/sensitive information in a tactful and diplomatic manner.
  • Ability to work independently to effectively prioritize competing tasks from a variety of sources.
  • Adaptable and capable of navigating ambiguity.
  • Independent thinker with sound judgment, who knows when to escalate issues.
  • A growth mindset

Responsibilities

  • Conduct individual coaching sessions in person, via phone, or video conferencing.
  • Discover, clarify, and align with what the supervisor/BU Manager and their leader wants to achieve by aligning their strengths, weaknesses, and aspirations.
  • Help leader develop realistic and effective action plans for leadership growth.
  • Encourage leadership self-discovery.
  • Elicit self-reflection to generate leadership solutions and strategies.
  • Assist leaders with identifying, clarifying, and creating individualized goals.
  • Develop action plans related to leadership goals.
  • Hold the leader responsible and accountable.
  • Assist with the development of coaching curriculum and leadership development at all levels.
  • Research and develop coaching programs.
  • Provide leadership development training and LSP education.
  • Build strong and trusting relationships with internal stakeholders including employees, managers, and Employee Experience teammates.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Develop and monitor surveys/survey results for feedback.
  • Develop and maintain coaching/training metrics.
