About The Position

Google's projects, like our users, span the globe and require managers to keep the big picture in focus while being able to dive into the unique engineering challenges we face daily. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects using your engineering expertise. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. You're equally at home explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers. Using your extensive technical and leadership expertise, you manage various Engineering-specific programs and teams. In this role, you will join a global team addressing emerging risks pertaining to how we manage, support, and respond to audits required by various regulatory bodies. You will work with regulatory affairs leads as well as Google and Alphabet’s legal, compliance, investigation, communications, and engineering teams to manage programs and projects that help identify, plan for, solve, and help the company adapt to Alphabet’s highest risks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in program management.
  • 5 years of experience in a leadership role with/without direct reports.
  • Experience managing security, privacy, or compliance-based programs as a technical program manager.

  • Experience in driving process improvements and operational efficiency efforts.
  • Knowledge of AI/ML principles, with experience leveraging AI/ML to solve operational challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the security and privacy regulatory audit portfolio which consists of regulatory engagements conducted by third-party external auditors or regulators for technical audits involving application security testing, code reviews, and information security controls reviews.
  • Manage the life-cycle of compliance/audit programs via cross-functional collaboration with product and legal stakeholders, including development of governance and processes.
  • Communicate schedules, priorities, and status to all levels in the organization regarding the status of new and emerging regulations.
  • Ensure program management aspects are built and maintained for the portfolio of regulatory obligations.
  • Serve as the management sponsor and drive the utilization of AI/automation within the organization, coordinating with the regulatory audit AI working group.
  • Lead thee development and launch of the regulatory audit’s technical center of excellence (tCEO) to enhance technical standards across the global program portfolio.
