About The Position

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Warehouse Leadman for our 2nd shift to oversee daily warehouse operations, ensure efficient inventory management, and lead a team of warehouse associates. This role is vital in maintaining seamless loperations, optimizing processes, and overall support of the team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive warehouse experience, and a solid understanding of warehouse management systems and safety protocols. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Two to three years of experience in a distribution environment (preferably steel distribution)
  • Ability to correctly read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments or material or equipment needs.
  • Ability to safely meet or exceed minimum productivity levels established by the Company.
  • Ability to develop a good working knowledge of product and inventory control techniques and procedures.
  • Ability to maintain ongoing inter-department communications related to routing, safety, and customer relations.
  • Demonstrate basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of ERP systems.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure.

Responsibilities

  • Consistenly follow all safety standards and immediately advise supervisor of any unsafe conditions.
  • Responsible for ensuring that daily tasks are completed efficiently and accurately. This includes assigning tasks, monitoring progress, and addressing any issues that arise.
  • Assist with safety duties and participate in continuous improvement and monthly safety meetings.
  • Safely and properly move steel to and from storage or production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, by hand, forklift, overhead crane or other equipment.
  • Attach slings, hooks, or other devices to lift material and guide loads; to climb onto vehicles to tie down and release material being loaded. This is continuous daily activity.
  • Walking through the warehouse making sure material is safe on racks and exit doors are not blocked.
  • Help check and pull will calls and deliver orders.
  • Maintain equipment daily inspections.
  • Effectively utilizing WMS and professional level Microsoft Excel ability to create and publish daily production plans.
  • Act as a liaison between their team members and warehouse management. They communicate any issues or concerns to management and provide updates on the progress of their team.
  • Other duties as assigned.
